This Siemens 828D control only retrofit solution provides all of the technological advantages and advanced features of the SINUMERIK 828D control without the heavy cost of replacing your current motors and drives. As long as the current drives/motors are operational and they accept an analog command, an 828D Analog Kit can be your solution. The best part about the Analog retrofit is that if the customer wants to upgrade the Drives/Motors at a later date, they can do it seamlessly without extended machine downtime.

The customer had a Cincinnati Milacron CinTurn 28C CNC Lathe with a turret tool changer that they wanted to upgrade. Keeping their limited budget in mind, MasterControls recommended the 828D Lathe Analog Kit. The customer also wanted to have the functionality of conversational programming, so ShopTurn with 3D Simulation was included as well. The existing spindle motor/drive and axis motors/drives were reused. A pre-wired Analog component plate was provided by MasterControls and installed in the exisiting enclosure, wired up to all IO and Feedback devices. Workpiece setup/axis jogging could also be achieved easily by the operator using a Wireless Hand Pulse Generator (HPG) provided as an option by MCI.
